Budapest and Hungary
The capital city of Hungary was created out of the unification of the separate historic town of Buda, Pest and Óbuda in 1873. Budapest is bisected by the River Danube, with the city as much a natural geographical centre as it is the county´s transport hub. There are 118 springs and boreholes altogether, supplying the city´s spas and baths with 15.4 million gallons of water daily ranging in temperature from 70 to 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Budapest received official recognitión for its thermal and medicinal waters as early as 1934, so its hardly a surprise that health tourism plays an important role today. Enjoy it!
